I can't tell you how many interviews I've done where I've been asked: If Trump's policies are so problematic, why are U.S. stocks rising so rapidly.

A bit of international context illustrates the real issue here.

U.S. stocks have dramatically underperformed other advanced economies.

The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

Any Democrat who "trusts" notoriously deceitful Republicans to keep their word on an ACA vote deal is too naive/stupid to be in office.

Let's fix that next time they are up for election. #PrimaryTheIdiots

Trump To Air Traffic Controllers: ‘Get Back To Work, NOW!!!’
President Trump threatened to dock the pay of unpaid air traffic controllers who missed work during the shutdown—a move that aviation experts say will only make matters worse.

May you never know a moments peace, @shaheen.senate.gov. this isn't right.
Reporter: What do you say to your colleagues who say this isn't a fight, this is a capitulation?

Shaheen: We have a guaranteed vote by a guaranteed date…

Reporter: There is no guarantee that this will become law.

Shaheen: There was never a guarantee that it would be become law.

Let me be clear, @shaheen.senate.gov - you have screwed over millions of people. You have not served your constituents or your countrymen. Shameful.
The arrogance of a Senator who is not even running again to take the lead in undermining the Caucus and the voters.
Shaheen: So let me be clear. No one in the senate chamber wants to extend the ACA tax credits more than I do.

Had the shutdown continued, Republicans would have been blamed for holiday travel chaos — and by the time the next CR fight comes along, rates will have already gone up for millions.

We gave away all our leverage for literally no reason.

This is messed up, @schumer.senate.gov - you needed to hold the line and be united. Step aside.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

@kaine.senate.gov I thought you knew better. You've been played. Disappointing, to say the least.
Jesus Christ, @kaine.senate.gov, getting a pinky promise to hold one single vote on ACA funding is not "a path toward fixing the health care mess" anymore than a lottery ticket is a "path toward fixing my personal finances"

They caved. They have to go. We did our part. They didn't. @dscc.bsky.social
I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Speaker Johnson has repeatedly said he won’t schedule a vote on extending the Obamacare subsidies. So what good is a Senate deal to end the shutdown that hinges on them promising a vote? It would be pointless.
