reinforces marginalization.Taking on lived experience persona, borrowing credibility, positioning yourself as an insider and speaking for them as if you're adopting the language, tone and identity markers of a community is weird, exploitive and can just generate misinformation and shows privilege.

WOW. Plus I have several friends who already prepped for their application. So upsetting. Do you know if people already awarded will lose it early?

Is this different from their usual exclusion? Eg people in clinical psych programs could apply, it just needed to be non therapy focused and submitted under another area eg developmental?
So now anyone in clinical psych can't apply at all?
(Genuinely clarifying, information overload at the moment!)

Or when people get mad when LGBTQ+ mental health is talked about because "ALL people have mental health!" Or "what about OTHER minorities too??" 🙄 We can't even talk about legitimate things anymore without some ppl acting like we need to write a whole book about every possible related issue lol

Very thoughtful point! Yes indeed. I also think on a fundamental level it's an issue with someone's line of thinking. It's like not being able to hold a suicide prevention fundraiser without someone getting mad about it because there's "other issues TOO!"

6) if we don't give enough examples, they claim it didn't actually happen and doesn't actually happen. If we do, with direct quotes and plenty of evidence, they STILL claim it doesn't actually happen. Something tells me the problem isn't lack of "evidence"

5) why are we talking about PD stigma when other disorders are also stigmatized? We literally talked about that.
Why did you give examples of stigma when it doesn't seem like something they would actually say so you must have just have just misunderstood or misrepresented :)
