How snowy/blustery/cold is it? I opened the treat drawer & instead of running over, Cam just stared at me from his comfy spot until his treats were delivered.

Elk nose boop! We braved the cold for a walk in the Wilderness Preserve today & this girl got very curious about the phone pressed up against the fence

Also, I'm supposed to admit my youngest kid took the photo, not me 🤣

Morning writing view. Cozy by the fire as my youngest clears the deck outside the window.

It’s 10 am & dawn is just breaking in the Yukon. We don’t do daylight savings time here anymore, so a later dawn but also a later dusk.

A lovely review from Publishers Weekly, in perfect timing for a preorder reminder :) B&N has their semi-regular preorder deal.
If you have a local indie, ordering from them might not get a discount, but it will win you a cosmic cheer from all of us who want to see those bookstores stay in business.

Misty morning. It’s August in the north, which means chilly mornings that whisper autumn is coming and warm afternoons that reassure it isn’t here yet
August 9, 2023 at 1:15 PM
I also write books. My next one, coming Sept 12, is Hemlock Island, a horror novel about, uh, people stranded in a remote summer home. Not that I'd know anything about that ;)
