The delightful thing about the new Predator movie is that if you think about it, it basically has the same plot as How to Train Your Dragon — just a very R-Rated version.

The losing team in this World Series got more runs overall than the winning team — 34 (Blue Jays) to 26 runs (Dodgers). I believe this is the 22nd time this has happened out of 121 World Series.

Ladies, have you ever had such a crush on a guy that you willed your skin to him so that it could be bound into his book???

My own Mandela effect is that I'm pretty sure that when I was a child, "embarrassment" was spelled with 1 R. Now it's spelled with two. I have a vivid memory of learning that it was spelled with only one R, and correcting myself often. Something shifted in the multiverse.

Zuck once again displays his incredible talent for understanding human behavior! We humans spend much of our days fretting that we're not "unlocking [enough] value."

Given how bereft and afraid Hollywood is of new ideas, I’m surprised they haven’t rebooted The Truman Show or made it into TV. it’s still widely talked about and in the cultural zeitgeist. Plus, the premise is, frankly, underexplored — the kind of thing you could build a larger universe around.

If you've ever wondered if the United States is a dictatorship of capital, currently the government is asking a drugmaker to stop selling a drug that kills people and the capitalists are just saying "nah"

Superhero movies keep coming, just at a slower pace and with smaller box office numbers. The reason, I suspect, is that superheros have always been a stand-in for American empire — and now that empire is collapsing. My latest for Al-Jazeera: www.aljazeera.com/opinions/202...
The superhero film genre is on a decline, and so is American empire
The patriotic, liberal values that superhero movies embody no longer seem to resonate with a divided American public.

The problem is that the United States has created a situation where if you want to operate a nation state outside of their imperialist scope, you must have a nuclear weapon.

Zuckerberg became a billionaire at such a young age that he never had a real, adult "friend." When you attain that kind of wealth, all your relationships become transactional and/or sycophantic. The last person you'd trust to pontificate about human relationships.

I'm really curious to see what happens when Gen Z gets older and has to read articles about their Gen Alpha brethren mocking their aesthetic 😅 www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
Cringe! How millennials became uncool
They are mocked by gen Z for everything from their trainer socks to their mom jeans and selfie technique. A maligned millennial asks: how did we get here?
