What I would really love is for universities that o take the coin they are dumping on the AI fire and use that to pay for premium streaming memberships

I know that I have to do more. Fire Fox has already made a huge difference. I often teach from my iPad bc it allows me to annotate slides and scores. But extensions are really limited on iOS. So now I switch inputs to play vids from my laptop then switch back

The breaking point was playing a video for class and an ad starts with “are you tired of freezing your man-nipples off?” That broke me, no coming back

Ghostery (ad-blocker, esp for YouTube) is useless on Chrome bc Chrome blocks many of its functions. I switched to Firefox and have been happy, but I'm not fully migrated yet. It has profiles, tab groups, and some key features that help me separate personal and work lives. And the AI can be hidden

I’m always disappointed that more of my tenured colleagues won’t take even the smallest of risks to protect their less secure colleagues

I am an “old” and although younger then, still was an old when I had them.

I’m interested in your experience with these in sunlight. I tried them once in sunglasses and found that the clear frame magnified sunlight into my eyes

I am so invested in this ride!

I have this article buried somewhere as well. You don’t have to look for international students to make up enrollment. The oft-cited study focused mainly on the white demographic. Looked at broadly across race we have a “going to college” problem with students of color opting to not go to college

My IT-aware daughter pointed out to me that some of these “tests” come from actual internal email addresses, negating any training or good sense you might have. My school doesn’t bother with tests. It just constantly enrolls us in trainings.

He is following in the spirit of John Cage, who said, “I have nothing to say and I am saying it, and that is poetry as I need it”

This. This is the answer.

Oh man, I’m thinking I could make this my entire theory teaching persona! I’m from the south, but Texas, so it would be more twangy than Foghorn Leghorn, but I could do it

I'm now scouring the internet for this reference

As a composer teaching theory I'm now feeling like either a co-conspirator in the crime or a master detective teaching others my special ways...

I read your post, and I have to say that this is a horrible look for AMS. The panel was just voted into existence and leadership wants to sunset it? And the operational issue is that the work of an ethics committee could lead to legal/liability issues for the org? That’s a tell
