And just what kind of crops produce in less than a week?

I’ll be happy to send you some of our native to Iowa Thorny Locust trees (aka vampire trees). They have thorns up to 8,”are trashy in the wind, are so indestructible that I have locust fence posts that are about 100 years old, and they never, ever die.

You can use a dry erase marker to label plastic food storage containers for the freezer. No more “What the heck is this?” Just write on the smooth sides and wipe clean with a dry paper towel when you’re done using it.

Yes, we still strip paperbacks. In adult books it’s exclusively mm. A fair number of middle grade paperbacks are strippable as are a few early grade readers. Costs too much to ship intact books back when the price point is that low.

Thank you, I needed a new earworm to get the Christmas carols out of my head.

Good morning! I’m in the middle of the ARC of HG Parry’s A Far Better Thing. It’s A Tale of Two Cities with fairies! Also listening to Barbara Hambly’s Iron Princess.

It’s a toss up for me. Reading Curse first gives perspective on Ista. Reading Paladin first makes Ista in Curse more poignant. Both are wonderful and you really can’t go wrong either way.

North Woods by Daniel Mason, Murder at Morrington Hall by Clara McKenna, and Starless by Jacqueline Carey. North Woods is stunning, Starless is a comfort read.

Bookseller here. I deal with this EVERY SINGLE DAY. Find a local bookstore and ask for the packing materials they get in their shipments. Air pillows are the best. They also usually have book sized boxes. And will be eternally grateful if you take them!

I have found that quoting Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwock will get you to a live human immediately at least 90% of the time. It’s also a great way to get rid of telemarketers.

I read the Doomsday Book first, so was not expecting the sheer giddy delight of To Say Nothing of the Dog.

Coincidentally I actually have an appointment with my lawyer in about an hour to do just that.
