Just read Barbara Truelove’s Of Monsters and Mainframes. It was just the vampires, werewolves, and mummies in space novel that I didn’t know I needed. You might need this kind of lovely, loopy, maybe slightly unhinged book to get you through. . .things.

I’ve never felt threatened by a trans woman in a bathroom but I sure as heck feel threatened by my elected representatives in Des Moines.

A year ago I had just had surgery for a kidney stone and was waiting for my first appointment with a gynecologist oncologist. This year I am incredibly thankful that I don’t have cancer. The world might be a scary place, but I don’t have cancer.

@tkingfisher.bsky.social thank you, and the Rat, for a much needed gift of distraction the day before a scary dr appt. It was a joy to see old friends and new who filled the scary echoing chambers of my brain last night and let me sleep. Looking forward to revisiting when my Argyll copy arrives.
