Had a go processing some of my older narrowband data in Pixinsight of Melotte 15 in the Heart Nebula. I feel this is a better result this time, more finer structure and better stars. This was 18 hours data with Ha, SII and OIII using Atik 383L+ and 190MN #astrophotography

Its raining again so here is an image from earier this year. M81 and M82 galaxies. 6 Hrs Lum and 2 hrs total R,G,B using 190MN and ZWO 2600MM. 100% crop of each galaxy and the full image rescaled. This is another Pixinsight re-process, still learning but very happy with this :) #astrophotography

Re-processed my M106 image with Pixinsight, wish I had taken the leap earlier to PI, much improved, although had to crop a portion to avoid poorly calibrated frames. This is a LRGB image, total of 19 hours exposure with 190MN and ZWO 2600MM camera, click left image for 100% crop #astrophotography

Here is my SH2-125 The Cocoon Nebula, imaged in HaLRGB. Total of 3 hours each R,G,B 3 hours Lum and 3 hours Ha. Imaged with a 190MN and ZWO 2600MM camera. This is my first try at using Pixinsight, so far I'm super impressed :) full resized and 100% crop image #astrophotography

After a decent haul of clear nights here is some new images. This is my NGC 4631 The Whale Galaxy and its buddy NGC 4656 The Hockey Stick Galaxy. With crops of each at full resolution. A total of 10 hours using LRGB filters with my 190MN scope and ZWO 2600MM camera. #astrophotography #galaxy 🔭
The NGC 4631 Group is a poorly defined group of galaxies, about 25 million light-years from Earth in the Coma Berenices and Canes Venatici constellations. The NGC 4631 Group is one of many that lie within the Virgo Supercluster NGC 4631 (also known as the Whale Galaxy or Caldwell 32) is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici about 30 million light years away from Earth. It was discovered on 20 March 1787 by German-British astronomer William Herschel. This galaxy's slightly distorted wedge shape gives it the appearance of a herring or a whale, hence its nickname. Because this nearby galaxy is seen edge-on from Earth, professional astronomers observe this galaxy to better understand the gas and stars located outside the plane of the galaxy NGC 4656/57 is a highly warped edge-on barred spiral galaxy located in the local universe 30 million light years away from Earth in the constellation Canes Venatici. This galaxy is sometimes called the Hockey Stick Galaxy or the Crowbar Galaxy. Its unusual shape is thought to be due to an interaction between NGC 4656, NGC 4631, and NGC 4627

With the Moon big and bright I decided to switch to Globluar Clusters, here is my image of M13 The Great Gobular Cluster in Hercules. Several hundred thousand stars, mind blown 🤯. Total of 2 hours Luminance and 1.5 hours each RGB using 190MN and ZWO 2600MM #Astrophotography #space #stars 🔭

Here is my image of SH2-275 The Rosette Nebula, My FOV at this focal length can't fit it all in, but this is the central region. 2.5 hours each of SII, H-Alpha and OIII imaged with a ZWO 2600MM and 190MN scope. Love the dust formations, how many animals can you spot? #Astrophotography #nebula 🔭
The central region of the Rosette Nebula, also known as SH2-275 and contains the open cluster NGC 2244. There is a blue central region comprising of OIII emmisons, there is an interesting collection of darker dust regions atthe bottom known as the Carnival of Animals

40 percent illuminated Moon, it is in the waxing crescent phase so is becoming more illuminated each passing day. Lots of craters can be seen, especially along the terminator, the line between night and day on the Moons surface

This is another image from my Samyang 135mm & Atik 383l+. This is the California Nebula Sh2-220. I imaged this with SII, Ha & OIII filters and combined them into RGB in that order. 9 hrs total exposure in 5min subs. The bright star is Menkib, an O7 star ionising gas in the nebula #astrophotography
A brightly coloured nebula having a blue central region which is ionised oxygen, and then gold and red hues caused by ionised Sulphur and Hydrogen. There are many stars in the image, but the brightest one in the middle just above the nebula is Menkib, a massively bright O7 star that puts out immense amounts of radiation resulting in the glowing nebula.

Sure, I captured luminance with an Atik 383L+ mono cam 15 hours 5min subs, whilst also capturing 15 hours 5min subs RGB on a ZWO 294MC (I had 2 135mm lenses at the time). Pic attached of the rig I used. It was a bit of an experiment at the time ☺️

Looking out of the plane of the Milkyway towards Polaris,the bright star in the middle, you can see the Integrated Flux Nebula.This is faint dust and gas illuminated by the Milkyway itself. I imaged this over 30 hours with a Samyang 135mm lens #astrophotography #space #ifn @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social
The bright star in the middle is Polaris (The Pole Star), this is surrounded by faint dust, this dust is called the Integrated Flux Nebula and is dust and gas outside the plane of our galaxy which is illuminated not by one star but the total flux of all the stars in the Milkyway

This is my recent image of M78 in Orion. I have been having issues with my flat frames so had some bad colour blotches so had to reign in the saturation. With some more careful layered processing I might get a better result, but I'm pleased with this for now. #astrophotography #nebula

A bit more fun with a wider field, this is the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies, I imaged this with a Samyang 135mm F/2 lens and Atik 383l+ camera, total of 4 hours exposure, just luminance filter. Left is the full image, but to appreciate the scale of the image open the 100% crops too 🤯 #astrophotography
In this image there are many many galaxies of varying sizes, the fainter dust that is visible resides within our galaxy along with the stars. Many of the smaller fainter blobs are also galaxies that are 100's of millions of light years away

A wide field view showing millions of stars of different colours, there is also faint nebulosity visible and smaller clusters of stars. There is darker regions of dust spread across the image.
