A3 start with the little things! Food is always a good equalizer, even if it's at the tip of the culture iceberg. Giving students a chance to be proud of an inventor, explorer, author, or someone from their culture is also important. Show and tell of a significant item is also a good entry point.

A2: Circles! for everything, not just repair of harm. Start with check ins, academic aha moments, weather reports, 6 word stories. Allow to pass. But keep offering for all voices to be heard. Eventually, even the "quiet" kids participate.
