The United States simply does not have the recordkeeping framework necessary to demand strict proof of citizenship. We have a messy patchwork of systems.
Problem is, many of the people in power consider that a good thing, because it means they can disenfranchise and deport citizens too.

More states are likely to start requiring submission of proof of citizenship as part of voter registration. Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab, a Republican, wants them to know about the fiasco his state ran into when it tried that apnews.com/article/kans...
Kansas once required voters to prove citizenship. That didn't work out so well

Correct. These are fundamentally scams. Perhaps a small number of supporters mistakenly believe the mission is genuine; that's irrelevant, because the mission itself is fraudulent and all the people in charge are scam artists. There's no scenario in which these scams are molded into genuine reforms.
DOGE is not going to give you a chance to reduce American militarism. RFK is not going to give you a chance to take on big pharma. If you try and engage on their terms you will become more like them and you will have no effect on what they do.
