From Yorkshire. Labour member. This account is for the true believers.
I don’t like people attacking journalists anonymous sources all of a sudden. We had no problem with them when the Tories were in power.

As a party we may need to accept that Starmer’s approval ratings are unrecoverable. What worries me is we don’t get the next leader right.

Keir Starmer should use this opportunity to completely overhaul the BBC’s leadership. New DG, new board. Stick a few friendlies in and even the playing field.

If Labour breaks its promise on taxation for working people it would be nothing short of political suicide. To raise taxes on working people when they don’t have much spare as it is should go against everything we stand for.

Scott Jennings: This is a terrible night for the image of the Democrats.

Democrats: Winning everywhere.

Might be a hot take, but I’m not remotely interested in who is elected mayor in a city outside my own country.

18 to 20 year olds earn a minimum of £10 an hour. Assuming a 40 hour week that’s just over £20K a year. Does Farage really believe people can live off that? When rent alone will take at least half that.

Out of touch.

Presently on a beach in Mexico. Life’s okay.

Both Reeves and Rayner made rectifiable errors. These shouldn’t be grounds for resignation. Not when you see what the Tories got away with.

Ethics advisors only make sense if everybody plays by the same rules.

The Tories don’t.
Reform don’t.
Neither should Labour.

16% turnout for the election of Labour’s Deputy Leader is pretty torrid.
October 25, 2025 at 10:05 AM
I can’t pretend I’m not disappointed by the result, but it is important that as members we get behind our newly elected Deputy Leader.

Congratulations to Lucy Powell. She fought an effective campaign. Bridget I know will continue to be a great Education Secretary.

We’ve all fucked up at work. But how do you accidentally release the wrong prisoner?
October 24, 2025 at 4:34 PM
I’m seeing so many Labour heads in the sand. We won 11% of the vote in what should be a safe Labour seat.

We’re fucked. And if you can’t see that I can’t help you.

Mounjaro has utterly changed my life. Since April I’ve lost 4 stone. I haven’t weighed this light since I was 16. I really don’t believe it would have been possible without it.

It’s not good politics or indeed good for the cause for Starmer to constantly give his critics air time. It is an apt criticism however to say he needs to be more aggressive when prosecuting an argument.
By the way, sick of seeing Starmer supporters on here saying stuff like he can't be expected to comment on every racist thing the tories say or it's wrong to expect him to be really strong in every comment he does make. Actually, yes he can be expected to do these things *it's his job*.

If Lucy Powell is elected Deputy Leader she’ll be in the headlines every time she undermines the leader.

That’s not healthy for the party or for government.

Palestine Action broke into an RAF base and damaged military aircraft. That the courts can review a decision to ban such an organisation is quite frankly mad. www.bbc.com/news/article...
Government loses bid to block Palestine Action ban appeal
In a highly significant ruling, the Court of Appeal paved the way for the review of the ban before a High Court judge next month.

I really don’t understand why the Canadian Tories are sticking with Poilievre. Is there no other option?
October 11, 2025 at 12:33 PM
The Labour Party leadership and deputy leadership should be decided by the PLP, not members.
October 9, 2025 at 8:34 PM
I voted for Bridget Phillipson. By far the best candidate to support Keir.
