My brother received a live kidney donation from my mother and had 20 years of good quality, dialysis free, living. My dad and step-dad have both had heart related treatments. None of this would be possible without research which was federally funded. Look around you and think about it.

It's a beautiful day. I was reminded why science funding is important - I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for federal funding, I had a near fatal car crash when I was 18, the MRI and the brain surgery to relieve the pressure and stop the outer cerebral hematoma wouldn't have existed without fed funds.
