I’m reading For Brown Girls with Sharp Edges and Tender Hearts and it’s so healing! I relate to so many of her experiences. This is a book I needed when I was in college. I’m glad it exists now.

Currently reading the Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois and it’s so good! The audiobook being 30 hours long almost stopped me from picking it up, but once I started, I was invested in the characters. Amazing writing!

Journalists make great non-fiction authors. I just finished The Viral Underclass by Steven w. Thrasher and it was an amazing look at how the viruses like HIV and covid disproportionally affected marginalized groups of people, causing a viral underclass

I finished this book, Imagination: A Manifesto by Ruha Benjamin, last week and it was so amazing!! I highly recommend for people who are looking for hope. It‘s basically about how we have to first expand our imagination of a better society in order to create it. Favorite quotes in the thread below

Just finished reading James by Percival Everett. This is a reimagining of the book, adventures of Huck Finn. The main character is Jim. It tells of his escape from being enslaved. Such a great book! The author is an amazing writer!

currently reading the great displacement: climate change and the next american migration by jake bittle. it’s so good! it tells the stories of people who had to move because of climate catastrophes. it also gives an overview of the man-made issues that exacerbated things

My favorite YA book of all time is Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney and I need more people to read it. And honestly, all her books are great. She’s an auto-read author for me.
