Maybe Trollope has the best explanation for something that has long puzzled me — why republicans have been so much better than democrats at messaging and persuasion.

I’ve been rereading Trollope’s Barchester series and marvelling at his oh-so-relevant depiction of political maneuvering and the cynical use of a powerful media channel to put people in power. Oh and he’s great at human foibles, breaks the fourth wall, and is very funny.
