Clearly having very little willpower tonight. Another Eric Brown I lacked. The first four Telemass novellas from PS Publishing in one volume

I may have also ordered more Evercade retro cartridges *shrugs*

The second book (the one above) is in print from newcon, but the rest are long out of print from ps publishing in physical (and rare).

I have a 2007 pre-pub proof copy of Summer and the rest as a series on audible. I’ll likely never get the other three individually

Inspired by @scifiscavenger.bsky.social haul and despite not having opened the two box loads that arrived for myself yesterday, I ordered one of the few Eric Brown titles I lacked

Sequel to Starship Summer - one of my favourite books

A fiver on ebay, "like new"

Samus finally discovers the “Metroid” in Metroid Prime

Must be about a third of the way through now from what I remember from the first time around

Case 4 of City of Rains #TTRPG saw the 3 investigators (and their monkey) solve the strange murder of prominent actor John Chinnery who was killed by a rabid lion on set

The trail led to a pharmaceutical company, military research, a gentleman’s club and a jilted lover

Me half hour ago: Phew, been a busy day unpacking boxes and sorting displays. I can go home and relax

Me arriving home: Hmm..

I have 13 more hardbacks coming next week thanks to a sale and some new publications. Whilst I do like a nice dinky hardback, a lack of display space means I may need to put a shelf up, since this one is full!

The Metroid Prime remaster is so pretty

After Frankenstein, I'm striking a more light hearted tone with tonight's film; The Comedy of Terrors.

Sure it's got Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorrre, but when one of the leading credits goes to a cat, you know you're in a for a good time

Book mail: November Tales of the Weird from @blpublishing.bsky.social

The Haunted Library edited by @tanyakirk.bsky.social

This is not a new version of the original Haunted Library book they published (see post 2), but there are some crossover stories

Tonight’s film is del Toro’s Frankenstein. Not a huge fan of his films, but we will see if I can get through 2.5 hrs of this

Also dug out a Peter Ackroyd adaptation in my clear-out. No idea if any good. Hopefully better than the Brian Aldiss rubbish I read last year

Nothing to see here. Just my warrior on a bee mount, fighting underwater in a big group event against a Leviathan

Normal Tuesday night stuff

Succumbed to the S. T. Joshi's too.

Waaay over budget this month. Whoops!

Also, here are some sci fi and horror on my order list this week. One from Angry Robot and some sets from PS Publishing

Since Conan isn’t going anywhere (literally, he’s spent a lot of time sitting down..), I’m switching to a dystopian/sci fi thriller set in 2025

The Running Man by Richard Bachman (Stephen King)

Not really a fan of most of King’s works, but going in open minded

Physically no due to size differences, but I do have at least 6-7 other books with giant ants (or ant horror). Plus several short stories about intelligent ants, including: Empire of the Ants by H G Wells (1905) and Captivity of the Professor by Lincoln Green (1901)

Book mail!

A big thank you to @northodoxpress.bsky.social for The Year of the Rat by K J Taylor

They’ve had some amazing books published this year and this is a “mysterious and trippy dystopia novel” to add to their SFF range
