Retired educator who still teaches one course a semester. And I knit a little.

I also garden in zone 6a/6b, both flowers in the ground and veggies in raised planters.
Somehow I missed this show, so I just bought it on iTunes. Near the end of episode 1… “All you have… You could stop so much pain, but instead you gamble with people’s lives for your amusement.”

Between this and Leverage, I’m beginning to wonder if you think this shit into existence…

You know, I don’t like conspiracy theories on either the right or the left, but sometimes you just have to admit that thing is a cigar…

Of course, every time someone mentions a 🌊 in 2026, I keep thinking, “Aww, it’s cute you think there will be elections next year.”

sheee-ittt… I hadn’t even thought if that.

What type of fiber?

We are also a couple generations away from the hard work of doing Boolean searches or, God forbid, using the Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature and praying no one ripped the article out of the bound journals in the stacks. They’ve always had google available instead. Now AI does it all. Badly.

Hmm. I wonder if it’s the same lack of generational knowledge that I think has led to the anti-VAX movement. We have a generation with no first or even secondhand experience with deadly childhood diseases since both they and their parents grew up with vaccines.

It seems we have a generation who has forgotten the old computing adage, “garbage in, garbage out.” While I’m no scientist, even as a science educator I was taught how to evaluate research. Are AI models taught that? Or are they just fed everything scraped off the Internet? Including the garbage.

You know, we may have faced similar issues with Biden, but at least he would have been surrounded by people who knew how to do their job and would ensure that appropriate steps be taken. Because agree or disagree with his policies all you want, Biden did what was best for the country, not himself.

For me it’s the snow plow rattling by at full speed. I just rollover and go back to sleep. After I get up to pee of course….

Apparently the auto-readers in PHL couldn’t read the zip code correctly. They could read my return address, which is why it got back to my post office repeatedly, but once in Philly, they got confused.

Surveys of what employers want consistently include things like communication and critical thinking skills at the top - just those things gen eds should teach you. Written communication? Eng Comp. Verbal communication? Speech. Critical thinking? Math, science, philosophy. And all applied to a major.

This is what was in the package! I would have been royally pissed if it never showed up! (Sweater, socks, AND leggings for my then new grandnephew. I was afraid he’d out grow them by the time they got there.)

no idea where it was and had to help others before she could search for it. She found it on the supervisor’s desk; however, they hadn’t had a supervisor at that location (a major city main branch) in over a year, which is why this was such a major hassle to get fixed.

I once sent a package to my nephew in New York. It traveled between my local center in NE PA to Philadelphia 7 times before I was able to get someone to physically pull it. Went to pick it up at my local post office, and only one person was working the desk. I told her what I needed, but she had…

My mother’s name was Joyce. She would’ve laughed until tears rolled down her face if I had been able to tell her this. Rejoice!

Thank you!

At least someone is acknowledging that. Every time I read about a potential blue wave in 2026, I think, “It’s cute you think there will be elections in 2026.”

I used to watch a lot of Real Housewives shows, until it got to the point where I couldn’t tell who was who because of all the surgeries/fillers/Botox. They all end up looking the same.
December 8, 2025 at 6:50 PM
Yes. We know. What are you doing about it?

I miss Nancy Pelosi.

Personally I operate from the baseline that all corporations are the worst. That way when one steps up, it’s a pleasant surprise, and when one fails to do so, it’s an expectation.

BTW, they’ve always been this bad. They just have permission to do it in the open now.
