Retired educator who still teaches one course a semester. And I knit a little.

I also garden in zone 6a/6b, both flowers in the ground and veggies in raised planters.
A new #WIPWednesday offering for #knitsky, a turtleneck circular yoke pullover. No particular pattern; just sort of winging it. Gauge swatched a couple of simple lace patterns; decided on the one with the YOs every 2nd row rather than every 4th row. Deets in alt text. 🧶

This is what was in the package! I would have been royally pissed if it never showed up! (Sweater, socks, AND leggings for my then new grandnephew. I was afraid he’d out grow them by the time they got there.)

I haven’t done a #ShowMeYourKnits post in a while, but here’s my offering for Christmas knits. I knit the sweaters for a grandniece and grandnephew seven years ago, and then last year used the leftovers to knit the gnomes and the ornaments. All with Berroco Ultra Wool. 🧶

Finished up my white Russian pullover designed by Thea Coleman, (@babycocktails.bsky.social) knit with Queensland collections BB Cote soy. And I’m wearing it today as I work on my new WIP. 🧶

I was going to retake the picture of my new WIP after removing the hair on the left, but then I thought if anybody would understand the joys of knitting with long hair it’s my BlueSky people.

New project on the needles, deets in the alt text. 🧶

Here is my #ShowMeYourKnits knitting nightmare. Not because of lacework, not because of beadwork, but because of the damn single ply silk yarn that turned into a twisted mess every time I turned my back. Spent more time untwisting than knitting.

But my mom really liked it.

In case anyone was wondering where the Epstein files were kept.

Destroying history because he’s a petty little bitch.

I’m not saying the photo on the left has anything to do with what’s happening in the photo in the right…

Fuck it. That’s exactly what I’m saying. Because that’s how petty Trump is. I

I don’t know if Doctor Who or chickens count as scary, but these could be used in a Halloween costume?

Homemade pepper jam time! Used the remaining hot peppers from the garden, store-bought bell peppers, used just apple cider with no added water, and the low sugar pectin. And just before this week’s freeze warnings! 🌱🫑🌶️

Tart and spicy, just like me!

It’s harvest time! Used veggies fresh from the garden for a while, time to harvest and preserve. Bags of tomatoes in the freezer for sauce and jalapeño jam from the peppers. I’ll need to buy bell peppers since critters ate those plants. 🌱

Your mentioning water levels made me check my little pond (which used to be the house septic tank - long story), and it’s reaching the top for the first time all summer. It’s been down a few inches showing the top of liner most of that time.

Asters are such a pretty flower, it almost makes up for them being the signal for the end of the gardening season. 🌱

It’s nice to know that no matter what is going on in the world, Pillsbury toaster strudel will always have just the right amount of icing to squeeze on it.

Not the best picture, but…

This is the wrong side. I slipped a purl stitch from the left. When I pull the working yarn over the top of the needle to the back, that that the slipped stitch forms the top part of the X, and the stitch from the row below pulls up to form the bottom half of the X.

I have 3 needle rolls in the bag, 1 each for 14” single points, 10” single points, and DPNs, pouches for notions, leftover yarn, and old labels. I store 50+ circulars in a box from Purl Soho with separate pouches for each size. Yarn is stored in plastic bins (15ish large and 30ish small).

Thought I’d snap a quick photo wearing the shawl/kerchief. Came out better than I thought! (Shawls are great for hiding all sorts of things going on below the chin… ) 🧶

Another #FOFriday offering just one week after the last! Used a couple of leftover skeins of Berroco Ultra Pima in Lavender knitting Orange Flower Yarn’s The Age of Brass and Steam shawl. Added an extra 1.5ish repeats to use up all the yarn. 🧶
