Action/adventure is one of my favorite genres. Highly rewatchable film to this day. Marion rates highly in my favorite female characters of all time.

It was a little campy even then, but the themes of injustice, rebellion, and feminism stuck with me. The kids' adventure seemed hella cool to me back then (during the MTV generation), and I remember loving the soundtrack. Haven't seen it in a long time. Might be time for a rewatch.

My mother is a huge Stephen King fan, so we watched all those movies when I was probably too young. GenX kid 🙃 Also some of the earliest adult books I read.

Not just for the obvious reason, but because I was too little to understand why Tad was so scared of his closet. That one scene left me wondering for years wtf was in the closet.. and what scary thing might be in mine 😆

I can barely track who my favorite celebs are married to, let alone dating, and am often surprised to learn who their adult children are once I see them acting, directing, and whatnot.
For the longest time, I didn't know Colin Hanks name, and I called him generic Tom Hanks. 😂

My parents didn't take me to any more movies in theater. Not sure why. We regularly visited Blockbuster though, and watched tons of movies at home.

It goes hard on blaming the husband for her death, but something struck me as odd about the whole thing. Not sure how much was true, and what was speculation.
In any case, her death is incredibly tragic. She could have been winning Oscars by now. I feel like watching Girl, Interrupted again.
