Brian Heywood's 2 new dangerous initiatives — IL26-001/IL26-638 — threaten the safety of ALL kids, especially trans & queer students, by forcing invasive genital exams on children who want to play sports.

Decline to sign these dangerous initiatives. Take the pledge here: bit.ly/WFFDecline

The Land Use Committee just passed my Roots to Roofs bill 4-1!

If passed by the Full Council on 9/23 the pilot will grant density bonus’s to get more community-led affordable housing built through Seattle.

A big thank you to the stakeholders and community organizations who got us this far. 💖

By a 4-1 vote, the Seattle Council's land use committee just approved @alexis4seattle.bsky.social's Roots to Roofs bonus pilot program, which retools the Connected Communities program that was rejected by the same committee in 2024.

CM Rivera cast the no vote.

The only time a parking mandate has any effect is when a developer is forced to build more parking than they need.

The Council just voted 8-0 to pass my office’s bill (CB 121009) to streamline the subdivision approval process!

This bill is a simple yet straightforward effort to promote good governance which will shave off critical time to build more housing.

We're talking about many months saved per project!

I will keep holding the line. I’m not a member of this committee, but I was asking CP to be recognized so I could ask the body for someone to make the motion to extend public comment. Everyone who turned out today should have been heard. I’m still on the dias and chambers are open so come by!

The biggest threat to Seattle’s tree canopy (according to the City’s own study) is the construction of single family homes. Middle housing is conducive to our climate & housing goals. Like so many anti-housing arguments, this too is a red herring.
Tree Action Seattle's talking points for Monday's public hearing on middle housing push for an amendment increasing building setbacks -- but notably do not recommend pushing for additional building height even as they advocate "developing up, not out."
