Yes:
"Increase Bureau Program Expense in the Special Appropriations General Fund by
$1,500,000 for community grants related to housing, food assistance, and
immigrant and refugee supports."
If that is specific than we have different definitions of the word.

In what way is Portland's Parks program not functioning? I go to Powell Butte and Tabor all the time, it's lovely. Do they want more money? Sure! Do they need it in lieu of public safety funding and housing affordability? Probably not.

Come to the city council meeting on Wednesday. I'll be there, we can see for ourselves what the voters have to say.
Btw does Morrillo's amendment provide anything in the way of specifics regarding where the reallocation will go? What kind of housing will be provided with these redirected funds?

I work with small businesses who are repeat victims of property crime and theft, I can tell you they absolutely did not appreciate it. Imo the council uses "parks" to disguise.andnadvance all kinds of harmful legislation (wait til the 3% raise on property taxes hits Portland renters).

Routinely gutting, or as the council likes to put it "redirecting", funding with little or no publif support.

Per @opb.org: "the money would specifically come from the program’s budget for campsite removals". Can you elaborate on how this would not impact trash removal?

If we want to get into I was born here type stuff...I was born and raised in southwest Portland. It's not a monolith ideologically, though it gets portrayed that way.

They are presumably speaking for most of the 60% of Portland voters who elected Mayor Wilson in '24. Some of his voters may differ with him on this issue (although this very issue is what set him apart from Rubio), but I would suspect he still has the backing of his voter base.

Morillo's amendment ain't passing. Normal people (i.e. not you) don't want the city to be a shantytown, and if you can find the money for a public housing project that can house 10,000+ addicts and mentally ill people, tell us where its at bro!

These councilors don't want Portland to succeed. They want to advance an ideology, doesn't matter if it works or not.

Even Mitch Green voters aren't on board with this idiotic, regressive and college-freshman-level-shallow proposal from Morillo.

PDX DSA councilmembers will be taking a ton of heat from the public on Wednesday for this totally out of touch proposal to kneecap @mayorkwilson.bsky.social's camping band and keep our city mired in crisis. I know this kind of stuff does well on BlueSky but wait until the real world gets word of it!
