Saint Paul - Urbanism and climate
We only fixed low density residential zoning so far. High density residential, commercial, and industrial are still basically the code from the 70s. Commercial will be addressed in the next year or so by an upcoming study, this new CM will have to vote on it.

It's a weird take since we only fixed low density residential zoning so far. High density residential, commercial, and industrial are still weird patch-works in desperate need of updates. Commercial will be addressed in the next year or so by an upcoming study, this new CM will have to vote on it.

I can confirm Cathedral Hill, Uptown, and Golden Valley had this flicker as well.

There aren't many bespoke tailors in the US bc the cost of living is too high. To pay $3.5k rent, you need to make $10k/ month, which won't happen as a tailor, let alone an apprentice. If you move to a cheaper area, there will be fewer customers and shops. This is why we need affordable housing.

For background, Millie & I own @mischieftoy.com along with our daughter Abby. We also have an adult daughter who is trans.

Back in Feb, we noticed that Klobuchar had been remarkably silent on a whole bunch of trans rights issues since the election. Abby & I wrote a letter calling her out.
An Open Letter to Senator Klobuchar
We are writing to you, our senior US Senator, to ask for your help. We need you to fight for us.

"A more compacted gravel/sand/dirt mix—typically known as “Class V” and used as a base for most paved roads and as the driving surface for unpaved roads in some rural areas, does not allow for significant rainwater infiltration and would also lead to tracking of material onto public streets."

"Loose gravel surfaces would potentially allow for rainwater infiltration but would not provide a durable parking surface."

"The City requires parking and driving surfaces to have a “durable and dustless” surface. This requirement ensures that loose paving materials and dirt are not tracked onto public streets, where they can impair traction and negatively impact water quality.

St Paul City staff had a surpringly strong response to a public comment suggestion of encouraging unpaved roads during the 1-4 unit housing study. The city requires paving to be “durable and dustless”, gravel that can drain isn't durable, and gravel that is durable can't drain, but is dusty

America is a duality and the only cities therein upon which to make comparison are St Paul and Minneapolis
