The purpose of education and going to college is not to habituate students to genAI or get them locked in to an AI vendor, and it's pretty nuts how willingly academia is falling for this brand of corporate "AI literacy" being sold by big tech as "free".

There was a time that imposing a tax on certain imported goods would result in Americans rising up against their rulers. These days the rulers just have to lie to them about what a tariff is and they cheer the tax they're forced to pay.
