I just tested with Windows Narrator and README is read as we'd speak it. I'd assume it's the same for the other standard readers, but not sure.

I was wondering if anyone would recognize that popular sweater pattern! I didn’t understand the popularity at first but now I’ve knit it in three colors. It’s a great sweater.
