2. Yes they work. However if you get the $700 version not the $3K version you will have to empty the condensate water yourself. I found this annoying but it was better running a smelly old gas furnace in a rental that had no insulation.

Midea and Gradient have some over the window sill (more expensive) kinds; the “regular” ones are the size of a mini fridge and put hoses in your window like an “AC with heat.” More info on this and other home electrification tips here: kbierce.substack.com/p/how-to-per...
