It's so important to point out that the systematic harassment (by not only other politicians, but the gallopingly obvious disproportionate media witchhunts) of brown women politicians but lack of consequences for it - is killing our democracy.

Stats NZ now estimates that 1 in 7 children live in households where they experience material poverty – 156,000. That means households report missing out on essentials, live in cold & damp housing, because of cost. That's the highest number since 2015. For a country as wealthy as NZ that is a sin.

What we should be doing rn is not entertaining fantasies where we don't need community - just because the world is letting us down. We need to talk to each other more than ever.
We need to think about what we're good at and what we have a surplus of - and fucking share and be there for each other.
