Expat Brummie living in NZ.
Comedy & sarcasm appreciated.
Like to dive into politics, science, climate stuff.
Love an interesting fact.
Laser Kiwi was a stand out then too. Also Booth the Clown & Jackson Cordery. Memory not so good on names of others. All members of The Circus Hub (my club). We have some amazingly talented people who train & teach there. Well worth going to a "RAW" show there if you're ever in Welly when one is on.

A few years back I won a golden ticket to the Wellington fringe festival through my circus club. It was 7 double passes to all the circus based shows...like winning lotto 😁

Earthquake risk too is worrying, particularly the flats. If it is prohibitively expensive and/or extremely difficult to refurbish these buildings, what is meant to happen...they are just left to rot when Wellington city has so little building space as it is? It does seem a bit mad!

Its easy to tell when Trump is lying...his lips move 😆

I love this "...all ages, makes and models". Such a fantastic way to describe it.

Its a bit like that in Wellington NZ with cycle lanes. We were given lots of reasons why they shouldn't be implemented. My neighbourhoods main street is now so much safer, quieter and looks 100 times better. The funding is often argued about but IMO that's a separate issue.

I find myself looking at your posts often these days, when the news and general state of the world gets too depressing. Thank you for your lovely pictures.

Because privatisation of public assets & essential services goes so well doesn't it 🤨 Like water companies in the UK, shareholders got payouts, bosses got bonuses all while literally pumping shit into the waterways.

Beautiful, puts me in mind of our Aotearoa (NZ) tui. Colours don't pop quite the same as that 🙂, but when they catch the light and have this lovely iridescence.

Not long after we emigrated, 20 ish years ago, one of the national headlines was about a missing caravan. I just loved that so much, given the kind of headlines we were used to in the UK 😆

I couldn't face it either...wonder if there were any "What I would say to you is..." or whatever that annoying phrase is 😆
Sad that some of the NACT policies seem to be following the same sort of logic as the US ones 😱

So cute. On the other end of the size scale- this is our latest foster kitten, she's 8 weeks. Came with no name so we're calling her Bob (been rewatching Blackadder of late 😁).

Same in NZ. Quite a few people are willing to pay more tax for better public services...but the tax system is unfairly weighted towards income, i.e., rich avoid paying their fair share. If the tax system was equal, that would be an easier sell.

I'm sure we could also blame the government for the weather? 😆
January 16, 2025 at 3:24 AM
True, but kindly don't call him Space "Karen". I don't want the name my parents gave me associated with that total numpty.

What's that saying...excess profits = stolen wages?

I'd like to know too 🙂 It reminds me of the Lake Wanaka tree en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_W%...

We had taco's. My daughters choice 😁 Beef brisket, pulled pork, tandoori chicken, grated cheese and a bunch of salad & grated veges to fill them. Summer here in NZ and its hard to have motivation for a big roast meal.🙂

Art mirroring life, why some of us can see and understand right wing tactics and others can't (or don't care enough to) is beyond me.
