Thank you Nadia, as always you’re a brilliant advocate for trans people.

Interestingly, I’m representing Labour at a Bristol Council committee meeting on Monday where I’ll be bringing up the topic of the totally unacceptable waiting time for adults to get seen by the GIC here in the SW.

At a ‘behind closed doors’ meeting of the Downs Committee last September we discussed the potential charging of PT instructors on the Downs. Some of the papers contained sensitive information (although that’s debatable).

The committee voted for the idea.
I was the only abstention.

I can only influence certain people in the Labour Party, I’m not all powerful. But as a local politician I can hopefully make representations that will be noticed.

Labour4TransRights are doing fantastic things & have the support of many MP’s & TU’s, as witnessed by our packed out solidarity rally.

Absolute rubbish. Polanski decided to make the abhorrent killing of an innocent woman relatable to the cost of living. How? That was my point.
January 11, 2026 at 7:38 PM
Of course it’s political.

My point was that Polanski finished his post about the abhorrent killing of a woman by referencing the cost of living. If that’s his style, so be it. But I think Labour are starting to make inroads into tackling the CoL.

Trans healthcare - I’ve been in local news media about this (print and TV).

I now have the opportunity for some direct input into improving adult gender services in the SW.

Can you explain to me why Zack Polanski finished his post on the abhorrent killing of a woman with a comment on the cost of living?

Here’s a list of what Labour have done so far on the CoL, more to do.

Fair enough. But Polanski implied that Labour are moving in that direction and I do not accept that. Especially when embedded in a post in response to the killing of a woman in cold blood by a cowardly ICE agent.

I fully accept there’s a lot to do. I’ve already written to DJ about some of these, going to follow up this year.

On trans healthcare in the SW, some improvements are in the offing but I think more could be done & progress needs to be quicker. Again, I’ll be pushing DJ on this.

You have misinterpreted my criticism of Polanski for including a reference to the cost of living in his post. And to suggest I’m uncritical of my own party on trans rights is ludicrous, I’ve written about it:-

With respect (and in reference to Polanski’s OP), what has the awful killing of Renee Goode got to do with the cost of living in the UK?

Polanski could have talked about the former without referencing the latter. He didn’t, that’s why I took issue with him.
