writing teacher, writer, cautiously back online, will beat you at scrabble.
This is correct! It's not about misogyny, puritan marriage values, etc. Folks are sick of elite impunity and the fallacy of meritocracy when the (technically still) married CEO and the head of HR are caught on a date by Chris Martin. It was then exacerbated by the brain rot of being extremely online

he's not a journalist; he's a fucking columnist

Excellent, incisive piece.

This text below might be a syntax error, unless you're suggesting she herself is chapterless, which is actually really fucking funny:

"Chapterless and digressive, Nuzzi goes from describing a Trump rally to reflecting on manta rays"

Good question. So many factors. I never judge my students though -- I tend to blame systems. Students have had a rough go of it. Tech has really damaged their understanding of the world and their ability to understand it.

Now you're talking

Yep. Pandemic and short form content kids are entering college with homework plagiarizers thrown at them from every angle.

I can see that. We'd just need class sizes of, say, 12 to have time for such things once a student has decided to use a LLM instead of learning the research process in class when it was taught

write my own (free) textbooks, which contain sample annotated bibs generated with AI. Students are assigned to find the hallucinations. I still had 5 (out of 92) include a hallucinated source in their final paper. It's a fucking nightmare out here man (edited for clarity)
December 15, 2025 at 11:49 PM
I teach college-level rhetoric and research; you can't force shit on adults. And even when you show students how LLMs write and hallucinate, some still plagiarize with it. "Correction" just doesn't apply there
December 15, 2025 at 11:46 PM
There's no way to correct a hallucination
December 15, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Do you hear yourself though
December 15, 2025 at 9:52 PM
Yep
December 15, 2025 at 9:08 PM
You are right. I think I blame sports broadcasters for that. But that's a different conversation.

and care to read the thread

That you need to explicitly articulate this multiple self-replies down should indicate why you're receiving so much pushback. Your initial skeet was skeeted without enough context to not be hella misread.

Brinkmeyer's _The Fourth Ghost_ for the literary angle too
