It is not a crack down on immigration. It is a crack down with intent to suppress and instill fear and subsequent compliance in American citizens. They are arresting and shooting American citizens.

"Crackdown" and "aggressive" are doing a lot of heavy lifting there. One could say that they're terrorizing citizens and performing numerous acts of state sponsored violence instead and be far more accurate.
