Overall, viewership is up 5% across the quarterfinals and semifinals this year, the league said. Last season, the NWSL averaged 562,900 viewers for the entire postseason, and 967,900 viewers for the championship game, a new league all-time ratings record.

In the quarterfinals, CBS drew 474,000 viewers for the Washington Spirit–Racing Louisville match. The two quarterfinals on ABC, Kansas City Current–Gotham FC and Portland Thorns–San Diego Wave, earned 435,000 and 391,000 average viewers, respectively. Amazon Prime Video declined to share data for its quarterfinal For Saturday’s semifinals, CBS aired the Washington–Portland match, which drew 548,000 viewers. The Orlando Pride–Gotham match averaged 328,000 viewers on ABC.

If you're going to have temporary facilities, planning to make them benefit the community afterwards is the way to go
The club recently announced plans to build a permanent home as part of a multi-purpose recreation center which is scheduled to open in 2028. Once that happens, the temporary stadium in Centennial will be reduced to 4,000 seats for use by the Cherry Hill School District. The agreement also includes a $100,000 donation to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation and access to NWSL tickets. There will also be internship opportunities for Cherry Creek students.

Washington aims to reach 16,000 fans per game in 2025, and its 71% year-over-year growth in full season tickets ranks highest in the league, the club says. I honestly love that we cheer on a good defensive move. They deserve just as much attention for preventing goals as they do for scoring goals.
The fan culture is completely different, being honest. In Spain, people are very, very close, they have a high, high energy, they feel like they are playing the game. Here, people are enjoying entertainment. They go to the stadium one hour early. They enjoy it with their family. If you win it’s OK, if you don’t win, I think they enjoy it too. They are, until the last minute, pushing and pushing and pushing. They are enjoying it when we are defending. So it’s a completely different environment. I was living in Barca [where] you have to win every game, you have to score a lot of goals, because if not, you are not doing well. Here people just believe in having a fun time and [they want you to] qualify for the play-offs, and when you are there, compete to win, but in the regular season, just enjoy, Me, I would like to win all the games and in the regular season too. We have to give our best in the regular season. But, I’m happy. It’s a new type of supporting the team, but I’m enjoying it a lot.”

Primary kits and secondary kits will each be rotated in offset, two-year cycles, meaning each team will get at least one new kit each year. (The current primary kits will be used in 2024 and 2025; the secondary kits that launch next year will be used in 2025 and 2026). There could be some exceptions due to circumstances like the Washington Spirit’s impending rebrand. Two years is about how long is now required for the design process, which starts with an intake form from club representatives and evolves into a collaborative discussion and mock designs from Nike’s team to bring to life each team’s idea. Teams are already deep into the design stage for 2026 kits. Multiple sources confirm that teams will have the option for third kits in 2026.

Badly needed
To do that, she hopes that U.S. Soccer will create a distinct women's coaching education department, rather than looping the women’s game into courses that, traditionally, have been rooted in men’s soccer. In the redesigned system she envisions, there’d be a Pro License, a B License, a C License and so on specifically tailored — “physiologically, anatomically, technically, tactically, psychologically, socially, emotionally” — to women’s soccer.
