He is blaming the shortage yet he implemented a fed hiring freeze that affected the FAA. 1/20/25, he signed an EO freezing the hiring of fed civilian employees across the exec branch, included critical roles like ATCs. On the 22nd, he terminated a FAA hiring policy that emphasized DEI.
