Scottish Labour MPs who were recently readmitted to the Party for voting against the two-child cap last year will be pleased to see it lifted, and the Barnet consequentials for Scotland must be passed on in full.

The Devil's In The Detail: First Thoughts on the UK Budget - Kaukab Stewart
There we have it, folks. After what feels like months of kite flying, pleading with industry, and income tax hokey-cokey, the UK Labour Government has announced its budget (after the Office for Budget...

Ahead of the budget, which the Scottish Government has had no clarity on, one thing I’m clear on is that Scotland’s budget and Scotland’s choices should not be damaged by the Labour Chancellor’s decisions. The budget that underpins your public services must be protected.

Following on from recent announcements on the Improving Access Fund, a reminder that Young Carer's Grant has also been extended, as part of our commitment to a Scotland where everyone can have a good and dignified life; real choices, autonomy, and access to support.

Labour blaming Reform for division and decline really is the pot calling the kettle black, and THAT’S the tea ☕️

The contrast couldn't be clearer: your SNP Scottish Government celebrating refugees while Labour's race to the right has Reform cheering them on.

We're the famous Tartan Army and we're going to USA!

Massive congratulations to the Scotland team for securing their place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 last night.

I'm encouraging care experienced people to #TickTheBox on their UCAS form when applying for college or university, to say they've spent time in care. This will make sure they get the support they're entitled to - from financial assistance to help with wellbeing. @fosteringnet-scot.bsky.social

Proud that Scotland is an inspiration to an inspiring mayor - best of luck to #Mamdani and his team. The SNP have plenty more progressive ideas you can borrow 😉

Labour is putting social care at risk. The SNP is investing to protect it, because we know it matters to you.

New York is one of the world’s most diverse cities – even more diverse than Kelvin! – and it is right that that be reflected in its politics. I warmly congratulate Zohran Mamdani on his election as Mayor of New York, becoming the first Muslim and first South Asian to hold the position. 1/2

With waiting times down 7.3% and a record number of hip and knee operations being performed, today we're investing money in orthopaedics, cariology and general surgery to deliver more appointments and reduce waiting times.

That's your SNP Scottish Government investing in your priorities.

If Douglas Alexander is serious about defeating racism by standing together, he should have a word with his own Labour colleagues about their own rhetoric.

I know it's hard when people in power are drawing a target on your back, but I'm fighting for you.

A few thoughts as we reach the end of Hate Crime Awareness Week. I have the privilege of representing one of the most diverse constituencies in Scotland, and see every day the strength, joy, and beauty our diversity brings.

🏘️ A tale of two governments: Labour now plans to slash the affordable housing target in London from 35% to 20%, while fewer than 4000 new homes have been completed there in the first hald of this year – well short of the annual target of 88,000.

Absolutely inspiring speech from the First Minister to wrap up SNP conference, and a strong - and timely - reminder of our values. Building cohesive and welcoming communities for EVERYONE in Scotland is at the heart of what the SNP is all about.

The Tories want to come for YOUR human rights. I won’t let that happen 💪
October 9, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Today's Tory motion continues their pattern of wrongly blaming migrants for everything - but they can't even get the basics right. When it comes to issues as sensitive as migration, getting the facts right really matters.

I am relieved to see this, and hope that they are all well. The details of detainees being mistreated in Israeli custody are absolutely chilling, and Israel must be held accountable under international law.
BREAKING: The three remaining Scottish activists who took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla have all been released from Israel

This morning I wrote to the Foreign Secretary and First Minister urging them to work to ensure the quick, safe return of flotilla participants detained by Israeli forces, including my constituent. I am deeply concerned for the welbeing of the detainees and for their families at this worrying time.
