Yes. I got about 1/2 way through the lit review and emailed the editor, but I also manually checked EVERY reference. I spent ~3 hours on this already. What assholes, right? I hope that this also results in some sort of blacklist.

With reviewing, this is precious time. I spend HOURS on this. And when I see these hallucinated citations, weird citations to random undergraduate presentations from a random country... well, it just makes me so so so angry.

But now, when I do reviews, I have to also deal with weird AI bullshit. Hallucinated citations, attributing things to authors that don't even make sense. It is painful enough to have to deal with this in undergraduate work, but at least those I can file a misconduct report.

2. A wire split in our (fancy Bluetooth) holiday lights. I called the neighborhood hardware store, they said to come in, and an employee sat with me for ~45 minutes trying to figure out exactly how to fix it. I only ended up buying electrical tape in a certain color, because I had everything else.
