Imagine if all non-driving/non-car owning households realised how much they were propping up a whole load of other people and decided to take action? Hmmm

Does it mention the magic wand she’s presumably still searching for to fix traffic problems without noticeably changing anything about the status quo??? what a muppet. Though again what a reflection on the steadfast, determined approach from Sadiq Khan, who’s looking ever more heroic here

disabled cycle users can’t be put in that position so I call discrimination on those plans. By all means permit cycling but it is not 24/7 4- season usable and you know women & disabled people do have work and events and education and many other trips to make after 5.30 pm in the winter.

Please please see @londoncycling.bsky.social ’s Women’s freedom after dark report. this looks and smells to me like a council that just doesn’t want to reallocate road space and thereby shows they actually don’t care about safety after all, ie fob off alert

And TfL needs to focus on safety quality and less on delaying cos buses. ‘we have to model it again’ long grass game going on in places where councils are trying to catch up.

Did she really say cycling wasn’t for serious trips?? first, try telling VisitLondon tourism doesn’t count but second, what is the cycling rush hour about every day if not work-related??? all cycle trips matter, not none.

Has London shed most of its outer boroughs? They’d like that. If not, though, perhaps the Mayor of the whole of Greater London could kindly get out of the Ivory tower and visit Hillingdon, Harrow, Bromley, Barnet and don’t bother taking a very long tape measure to count the inches of cycle lanes

Especially when there are successful examples hiding in sight. Brighton Lower Prom??! (Actually no cycling there due to reasonable space constraints. Self-enforcement proof of success because it is so rammed with people on foot!)

That said, those short distance cycle users do still need to get to the shops… And the ‘short distance cycle users’ are less likely to be the type mixing it up feistily with buses, right? Ps some of us do amiable cycling for long distances too
