Geek. Reformed American in the UK. Love folk music, Terry Pratchett and all things sci-fi & fantasy. Dislike bigots and jerks - which is a venn diagram with a fair amount of crossover.

I'm paid to do data marketing. Someone has to.
This is very cool. I'm apparently an American progressive. Ish. I have so few followers and follow so few, it doesn't have much to work with for me. Where do you land?
I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself!

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail

Dear hair care bottle manufacturers and printers - please label your bottles in BIG LETTERS - SHAMPOO...or...CONDITIONER. Some of us require reading glasses which (funnily enough) we don't wear in the shower. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

OK, the D&D session with @timmaidment.com was a couple of days ago, but I do feel I should share this most excellent t-shirt Tim gave me for Christmas. He knows me so well.

Goodness I'm tired - a cold, bad napping habit and jetlag will do that to you, I guess.

Would you expect me to wear any other Christmas jumper?

This is distressingly true.

You can't be British without reacting to the first snow of the season with amazement. It's as if we've never seen snow before. Thus ends today's weather update.

So this is what I did last night with @timmaidment.com - huge fun - and it was a joy to introduce an #ignobel virgin to that wonderful tradition. timmaidment.com/2025/11/01/a...

I just realised that @scalzi.com's story When the Yogurt Took Over, (that was animated in Love Death and Robots) is a much shorter remake of Colossus: The Forbin project, but with dairy products.

We had such a great time! Asking Tim to run a one-shot for my colleagues was possibly the best idea I've had in 8 years at my workplace. I can unreservedly recommend you hire Tim at once to run a D&D session for colleagues who have never played D&D before. Hire him at once.

I too hope this is real - it's too wonderful for words.
I hope this is real. I'd be as proud to receive a resignation such as this, as I would be to have written it myself 😂
