How does a 1 person shop maintain spaces in 2 storefronts, online, and occasional pop up markets? Lots of driving & little sleep. Shop Unpredictable Finds for the holidays at Chartreuse Microbus Collective in Cambridge MA and at Rhode Island Antiques Mall in Pawtucket RI.

I love being surrounded by 30+ trees until I need to use a snow shovel to move leaves from my sidewalk & parking lot. Providence missing my 4 full leaf bins for last week pickup ain’t helping the situation. 4 bins & 5 bags later - I still have lots of leaves on asphalt.

Didn’t realize RI had killed all its turkeys by the 1800s, only reintroducing them in the 1980s. One visted my yard back in June & sampled my berries & admired itself in my car’s reflection.

Driving violations seen on short AM errand jaunt in Providence: 2 delivery trucks & 1 cop parked in S Water St bike lane, car on S Main St nearly mowing down person in crosswalk, cars way past stop line inching forward at red light at N Main St, van parked in Olney St bike lane. A typical AM.

My pepper plants didn’t get the memo that their season is done. It’s cold & dark now in RI. They’re still throwing fresh blossoms. Finally picked all the plant babes trying to do their thing.

Our favorite annual tradition: smashing carved pumpkins after Halloween so they fit in the compost bin.

Jill Davidson won Providence RI Ward 2 primary! Congrats @jilld.bsky.social

The easiest way to make your voice heard is to show up and vote! Turnout in RI primaries is super low historically. vote.sos.ri.gov/DataInformat...

Friends remind friends to vote! If your text chains don’t include “I voted selfies” & polling location gossip of who you saw there, you’re doing it wrong. Ward 2 primary today Tues Nov 4th!The 3 polling locations are open til 8pm.

Nothing better or more Providence than discovering other folks you know & haven’t seen in a bit also volunteered for @jilld.bsky.social to hang door tags! We were busy sharing work resources we were among the last to get our door assignments. Vote today, Tues 11/4 til 8pm.

That feeling when you get to pop outside to harvest fresh sage for dinner.

Trimmed back brambles & pulled dead milkweed to find my tree. Pretty sure its dead. RIP quaking aspen. I hardly knew you. We had a hot dry spell & I forgot to throw it any water as it was still 1st year getting established. Whoops. On the plus side my 5 fruit trees all look gorgeous.

We made the iconic psychiatric help booth as part of our Peanuts themed Halloween display. I found a comic where Snoopy had a “friendly advice 2 cents” booth. Wish we built that one too.

For the past few years my block has done themed Halloween decor. The Red Baron’s plane in the wind was my favorite part.

Don’t mind me. Just popping out to my garden in late October to pick some peppers for dinner.

Both Sam Zurier & Helen Anthony endorsed Jill Davidson for the Ward 2 City Council seat. @jilld.bsky.social broad range of endorsements alone show how she can bring together a broad range of people to work together. She’s got @pvdstreets.bsky.social @climateactionri.org & others backing her too.

My green tomato bread ratios were off, so it poured soupy into the pan & collapsed after cooking. It also looks like the tomato puree still settled to bottom like the diced tomatoes did & sugars to top. Still tasty. Plan on tweaking & making loaf #3 today. Will share recipe when it’s right.

As we walked back, someone on N Main shouted from their car asking what was going on. Not everyone knows what’s going on. Not everyone is paying attention. So it’s important to keep showing up & speaking up.

The march snaked for almost 2 miles through downtown Providence. I walked a bit behind a pink cow.

The Lorax! So many good signs at Providence RI! There was also another one “there’s only 1 orange monarch we need” and it had a butterfly.
