Here are some books and series (from my parents’ “archives”) that made a big impression on me growing up. Montmorency in particular was huge for me and I’ve never heard anybody else talking about it.

One of my foster cats would do this, except he would jiggle the lure and then launch himself off the couch after it. Perfect entertainment system.

Nice clouds this evening.

I think that was the hardest rain I’ve seen?

Found my old iPod. Works as well as the day I got it. This was really a superior form of technology. Even better apparently it’s still 2019.

There was a nice view from the Stavros library of the action as they gradually shut down the street.

There was a large police presence today (absent at the prior events) but pleased that all was peaceful and orderly as usual here in NYC. Another rainy one. #nokings

I didn’t know how much I (a big fan of dragons) would enjoy The Cloud Roads, a book about lizard people, but Martha Wells never disappoints. This book has been my motivation for getting up in the morning all week. Had me by the third sentence! Now back to reading.

Feeling like a bit of a wizard after making this foam. (Immersion blend milk + 1:30 in microwave). Also — cold frothed milk tastes at least twice as good as regular milk. 👀 Like cream. Same reason bread tastes good. Surface area = flavor.

Re-reading my plot notes. I uh, don't remember writing this but I'm intrigued...

Another great turnout in NYC today, seemed similar scale to the April 5th event.

Incredibly well run event in NYC today by #handsoff Good vibes despite the chilly weather. I saw probably 30 volunteers managing car traffic and a lone happy looking police woman watching the protest. Crowd of around 100k from what I heard.

On the topic of #nanowrimo I made my own visual writing/editing progress tracker in Google sheets a few years ago which you are welcome to copy and adapt to your purposes at the link below.

I've been thinking about depictions of disability and cope vs cure in fantasy. Princess Mononoke is an interesting example; there's a magical curse, real world disability (leprosy) and a cure for both at the end. But the wisdom of Osa gives deep dignity to a life spent coping as well.

This is a fun question but now I'm cursing my lack of available art history textbook...there's a painting of creepy and surreal ruins I'm thinking of but It's not Monastery Ruins in the Snow by Caspar David Friedrich or Isle of the Dead by Arnold Böcklin. Perhaps the one in my memory does not exist.
