Professor of Clinical Trials Methodology & MRC Senior Non-Clinical Fellow. Mixed-methods. Generating evidence to inform design and delivery of participant centred trials using behavioural science.
@anniestats.bsky.social gave a great talk on decentralised trials. Main message from PhD review work is there isn't a one size fits all approach. Trial design may need to be contextually determined and responsive to population needs #SCT2025

@liamhbishophealth.bsky.social kicks off his talk at #SCT2025 by thanking the Society for continuing to create space for raising EDI issues in clinical trials through recognition across sessions and committees. And gives a great talk on building trust through community focussed workshops and videos.

Using imp sci to consider how actionable regulatory guidance is for diversity in clinical trials. Rebecca Metcalfe highlights that more work is needed to make system-level changes to where and how trials are conducted. Building trusted relationships & enforcing guidance are key next steps #SCT2025

Adwoa Parker walking us through the update of the Cochrane review on interventions to improve recruitment. 7 years & >50 new studies doesn't tell us much more with high certainty. Suggests trialists think carefully about using interventions with no effect (bottom 3 in pic) #SCT2025

My highlight from #SCT2025 day 1 was Mollie Paynes talk on her PhD research on dose-response methodology in complex intervention trials. It's always great to hear a statistics talk that non-statisticians can also follow. Perfectly pitched. More on Mollies work here github.com/molliejpayne...

Late breaking session at #SCT2025 on the impact of recent US govt actions. So important for us to come together as a trials community to collectively support the research endeavour and our US colleagues. Flags an opinion piece in @nytimes.com today that encourages us to 'get mad in public'
