Hmm, those are in ‘popover’ views which means you should be able to tap anywhere outside of them to dismiss. That used to work only on iPad but they came to iPhone last year. Does it not dismiss for you if you tap at the top of the screen like I do here?

I can't do a darned thing about the sorry state of the world, but I can make software people like and maybe somehow, the world will be a better place, or at least people can have tummies full of 5-berry meals. And that’s a start.

After I saw that, I decided to have a go at it, making fun of tropes with an infectious disarming grin. Made with Sketch, ProCreate, and Linearity. AI can't do everything, it seems.

OK I tried making AI do the thing I want. I learned that Claude AI will very happily create the thing you prompted. I asked it to composite two images together. I guess it did? I will stick to asking it to code review ChatGPT occasionally.

I just read @antonhur.com 's excellent debut novel, Toward Eternity today. Epic in proportions, a feat exploring poesy, the nature of consciousness, self, and the philosophy of language, as well as music theory, AI, love, the Big Bang, parenthood, and reincarnation.

I had a blast making my first #SwiftUI view. Of course Apple gives decent starter code but I love the ‘exercises left for the reader’ such as well, turning off the timer. I also found the UX to set a timer was a bit complicated in the sample code, so simplified it.

My child is cooking me a three course birthday dinner, from recipes out of the Stardew Valley Cookbook. Starting with Elliot's favorite appetizer, Bruschetta. She baked the bread herself starting at 11AM.

Thanks for the pointers. I tend to go whole hog, but run into basic road blocks, like I got the timer live widget working parsing text from recipe steps into seconds, but, I can't change the background color of this view. </whine>

Guess I can delete this class. I couldn't use it after iOS 7 anyway. Glad Apple is letting us have our user interface back.
