2.). But of course, the plant doesn’t need to be acclimated to the different climate (indoor vs outdoor temps) because the tuber was planted outdoors from the beginning. And all hard frosts are past by then, hopefully. LOL

1.). I am in zone 6a. I plant the chitted whole tubers and cut pieces in the beginning of April or whenever I get my act together. I have had snow fall on the newly sprouted plants but they actually seem to like it because of the nitrogen it provides.

Can’t you just put them in the ground earlier? Or is the ground too frozen? I hill up soil and put a lot of mulch on the beds to keep them cool. What zone are you in? Sorry, to be so curious, but I’ve never seen anyone start potatoes in pots and I am fascinated! 😊.

Hi Chris, I have use hydrogen peroxide alternating with baking soda for pretty good results with tomatoes (same family). This video explains it well. While it doesn’t heal the damaged leaves, it slows down or prevents new outbreaks. youtu.be/OANcSiKZzyQ?...

Sweet potato vines make gorgeous spillers, You would have to find an upright plant to add to it that flowers. A cause for botrytis can be over use of nitrate fertilizers, something easy to do in container plantings. This is a helpful link w excellent info. www.gardenersbasics.com/tools/blog/u...
