This time last year I was at #Futurebuild & received this poster from the #WoodlandTrust stall. As someone who didn’t grow up in a temperate climate I still have a lot of work to do familiarizing myself with all the UK woodland trees! Weapons were the deterrent against war & #War is terrible for both #people&planet. But did we need to spend so much?

I am usually reading several books at the same time (probably why I find it very difficult to finish them!)

One book I’m reading is ‘Wasteland’ by Oliver Franklin-Wallis. I recommend everyone reads this if they want to know the truth about what happens to waste. #CircularEconomy.

The 1st chapter in #1001WaysToSaveThePlanet is about the #Kitchen
& the first 3 pieces of advice are about #energy & all no brainers. Though I advise that vinegar is all you need to descale kettles - do it often. Always wise to only boil what you need & only heat up what you need to. #StillRelevant!

Just took this book off my bookshelf for a look. I can’t believe it’s 35 years since I bought this. The main environmental news at the time was the hole in the ozone layer, acid rain and Exxon. I am going to embark on the quest of revisiting the #1001WaysToSaveThePlanet and see if they still apply…
