To all women out there who have had a “Miss Triggs moment” - & I know that is almost all the women I know - I hear you & hopefully things have improved for all of you. This cartoon in “Women and Power A Manifesto” was from circa 30 years ago but it most definitely still occurs in meetings. #IWD2025

#Plastic pollution is a key challenge of our times. We continue to find out about new hazards associated with it - including its impact on #ClimateChange. (See link in comments below.) Hopefully people start to actively help to change the tide and help to eliminate scenes like these on this beach.

Food waste is a top #GHGemissions emitter. In developing countries waste happens in production & elsewhere it’s usually by the consumer. Meanwhile there are so many going without & also young people keen to learn new skills.

I am usually reading several books at the same time (probably why I find it very difficult to finish them!)

One book I’m reading is ‘Wasteland’ by Oliver Franklin-Wallis. I recommend everyone reads this if they want to know the truth about what happens to waste. #CircularEconomy.

Just took this book off my bookshelf for a look. I can’t believe it’s 35 years since I bought this. The main environmental news at the time was the hole in the ozone layer, acid rain and Exxon. I am going to embark on the quest of revisiting the #1001WaysToSaveThePlanet and see if they still apply…
