#BBCQT £400 Billion spending during COVID… and now it’s mainly the working class and middle class need to pay that back…. What about the uber rich who were the significant beneficiaries of that money?

Still one of my favourite cartoons/ graphics/ comics…..

Why is everyone so determined to make the world a terrible place?

The byproduct of individualism is neglect of everything that serves the social good. No one being can survive completely in isolation of other beings and nature.

Just watched this and now sharing across my networks. What a powerful poetic provocation by Ashanti Kunene. I encourage everyone to listen.

Have a thoughtful Sunday, everyone!

To all women out there who have had a “Miss Triggs moment” - & I know that is almost all the women I know - I hear you & hopefully things have improved for all of you. This cartoon in “Women and Power A Manifesto” was from circa 30 years ago but it most definitely still occurs in meetings. #IWD2025

#Plastic pollution is a key challenge of our times. We continue to find out about new hazards associated with it - including its impact on #ClimateChange. (See link in comments below.) Hopefully people start to actively help to change the tide and help to eliminate scenes like these on this beach.
Uday Devrukhkar's amazing and depressing picture of cricket being played among tonnes of rubbish on the beach at Versova, Mumbai was a runner-up in the 2014 MCC-Wisden Photograph of the Year

I would love to hear @garyseconomics.bsky.social & @kateraworth.bsky.social in conversation about the Economy. I have heard them both speak about the challenges of our times with wealth inequality & social & environmental challenges arising from misguided faith in 20c economic theory. #people&planet

Love everything about this project!

Food waste is a top #GHGemissions emitter. In developing countries waste happens in production & elsewhere it’s usually by the consumer. Meanwhile there are so many going without & also young people keen to learn new skills.

This time last year I was at #Futurebuild & received this poster from the #WoodlandTrust stall. As someone who didn’t grow up in a temperate climate I still have a lot of work to do familiarizing myself with all the UK woodland trees! So I’m going to bring you on my UK trees familiarization plan! 😁👇

#BooksIAmReading….
I am usually reading several books at the same time (probably why I find it very difficult to finish them!)

One book I’m reading is ‘Wasteland’ by Oliver Franklin-Wallis. I recommend everyone reads this if they want to know the truth about what happens to waste. #CircularEconomy.

Just took this book off my bookshelf for a look. I can’t believe it’s 35 years since I bought this. The main environmental news at the time was the hole in the ozone layer, acid rain and Exxon. I am going to embark on the quest of revisiting the #1001WaysToSaveThePlanet and see if they still apply…
