Official time 27:26. New park run PB at Oaklands this morning. I answered the question of could I go below 27:30. I suppose the next question is can I go below 27:00? (A question a year ago, I would never have dreamed, I'd be posing).

Yesterday, I participated in Solihull's Remembrance service. As a Councillor, we don our official robes and stand facing the memorial during the ceremony.
I attend every year as its important to remember those who gave their lives. Had they not, the world would be a much darker place.

Why it's so difficult to object/prevent the blatantly unsuitable HMO proposed for down the road.
September 28, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Official Result was 27:33, which means I smashed my goal of sub-28 minutes and took 28 seconds off my personal best.
I'm still struggling to believe how much I've improved and the fact that I'm well into times that I thought were beyond me.
Where next? (Sub 27:30 seems possible, Sub 27 maybe?)

Tried somewhere different today (Oaklands), as I struggled with being crammed in at the start at Brueton Park Run last week. Consistent time at 28:02. 1st in my age class?!? Could have been better, but for a shoelace and a short walk - Oh well.. Loved being able to start and the space. Will be back.

Another PB this week at Brueton Park Run. The official time was 28:01 and the reality is I'm disappointed that I didn't break the 28 minute barrier (officially); something that 6 months ago, I wouldn't have even dreamed thinking about as possible.

My best 5km ever. 28:11. Shocked by just how fast this run was, I thought it would be fast, but I wasn't expecting that, nearly 50 seconds faster than my previous PB last week.
September 7, 2025 at 6:16 AM
Official time of 28:58, my fastest for a Brueton Parkrun and my first sub-29 minutes. First time, I have ever been in the top half of the finishers (just by 1 place coming in at 305th). Pretty chuffed with my effort this morning.

Removed a couple of tags from the entrance to Olton Jubilee Park. Last year, when I painted the brown fence I paid out for a high quality metal paint. The benefits of that decision, were that the tags wipe off with much less effort than most painted surfaces and leave the fence paint undamaged.

This morning, I smashed by park run PB, taking 34 seconds off and finishing in 29:01. The reality is had my shoe lace not needed tying, I would have been sub-29 minutes and that's in the realms of things I never thought possible.

Yesterday's park run. First time at Penistone. Faster than I was expecting, but 2nd week in a row without stopping. Weird being at a smaller park run as your finishing places are much higher.
July 13, 2025 at 7:00 AM
After a lot of frustration with my running this finally happened at this morning's parkrun.
No stops, sub 30 mins and a new PB. (Still didn't managed to run for 30 mins without stopping, but I think getting to the finish in under that time is a pretty good reason)
Chuffed to bits!

JLR did a take over of the Stratford park run this morning, so I made a last minute de ision to run there. @mp4stratford.bsky.social was there. Did 2 great laps, butreally struggled with the 3rd.

Got my running shoes on for a lovely run along the canal. Apparently, I run faster than canal barges. And a couple of minutes removing the tags from the street light, when I was done. It's fair to say graffiti wiping is much harder using your left hand.

Me at park run this morning, complete with plastic bag to stop my splint getting wet. Not my best parkrun, although it was up there in terms of being one of my better times this year. I just need to improve my stamina as the last 1.5km was hard.

So close to sub 30. My 3rd fastest patk run to date and my fastest this year. Literally, a shame I didn't tie my shoelace properly before I started. Think Gorleston Cliffs is probably slightly easier than Brueton Park, as 2/3 of my fastest runs are here.
May 17, 2025 at 1:04 PM
So 2 things happened: My fastest park run of 2025 so far (around a minute faster) and my first since I broke my finger running..... and the scales finally began with a 6.... (lost almost 6kg since I started to make a conscious effort to loose weight in mid March)
