So in an attempt to treat all equal, they actually treated the two groups differently which is of course wrong and should be amended.

The tests are used on both Danish and Greenlandic parents-to-be, if the authorities deem that there is a risk to the child e.g. young parents etc.
The issue with the tests were that they favored Danish cultural norms and thus could not be used on Greenlandic people as they have a different culture.

In Denmark (I’m Danish) the king and queen hold no political power and they are not aligned with any political orientation (within the kingdom, they always follow the official foreign policy). They are by most viewed as people who sets a standard for the rest of us - education, behavior etc.

It’s not a law yet, it is currently being written. But there is an agreement that such a law should exist. It is expected to be ready winter 25/26.

It’s not a law yet, it is currently being written. But there is an agreement that such a law should exist. It is expected to be ready winter 25/26.

The tests have been altered, in collaboration between the Danish government and Naalakkersuisut. The tests are there for a reason and used on all, not just Greenlandic parents. But the weren’t adjusted to Greenlandic culture which is a huge problem.
