I don’t know the Nowegian alphabet, but I’m willing to bet that “Regnet i Spania faller hovedsakelig på sletten” or “Den raske brune reven hopper over den late hunden” don’t serve the same purpose.

Phrases like “The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain” or “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” don’t mean what the words say. The first is a test of pronunciation. The second is a sentence used in typing or writing tests/examples because it uses every letter in the English alphabet.

We’re on the NSW South Coast south of Sydney. The water’s bloody freezing. We get currents from the antarctic here, so there’s about 2 days a year when the water doesn’t feel like an ice bath 🧊
