19 Buddhist monks and their dog, Aloka are walking 2,300 miles across the United States to Washington, D.C. for a "Walk for Peace" promoting compassion, currently passing through Georgia as of late December 2025. The trek began in October and is scheduled to conclude on February 13, 2026.

The Walk for Peace by the monks is cathartic and needed in this year of unnecessary chaos. They used to travel to different countries but now making a trek from TX to DC akin to the 1961 Freedom Riders Route. Protect them at all costs. 🙏

My precious family got to gather in harmony with the venerable monks during a part of their journey on the Walk for Peace. We enjoyed listening to them speak and we even got bracelets! We also had the opportunity to give them a poster we crafted with great intention. What an experience.
