the prison and police related ones were a bad time: lots of complaints about mistreatment, and I can easily imagine political and corporate motivation to make that disappear. prisons & jails also seemed to have a common meme where people would give star ratings for a stay pretending it was a hotel

like, of course, meeting someone in a professional or fan setting is a different thing than knowing them socially. but, anecdotally, the people who make the coolest shit have been Cool, in the good way. like genuine enthusiasm for creating. the world is full of this heart & energy, big & small scale
