Hi! I’m Kathleen, a designer and cartoonist from Vancouver. I haven’t been actively making comics the past few years due to some ongoing health problems, but you can read almost 300 pages of my goofy, gay, silently musical comic series Band Vs Band at bvbcomix.com
Band Vs Band art with the main characters Honey and Turpentine playing guitars, and the rest of the bandmates behind them. I originally drew this as a print for the BVB Volume 1 reprint Kickstarter, and liked it enough to include it in the book. Covers of the Band Vs Band Comix Volume 1 and Volume 2 print books. I’m still proud of them as book designs, and they both include some fun extra bonus stuff that isn’t in the web version. The Vol 1 is the second “special edition” printing after the first ones sold out, and it’s got extra extra stuff. Thank you, again, to all the kickstarter backers who helped me make these things exist! Two Band Vs Band designs meant to look like retro romance comic covers. These were a double-sided postcard I gave away free at comics shows and with online shop orders. Title: TALES O’ GAL ROMANCE Card 1: Honey Hart (thought bubble): “That gal’s nothin’ but trouble! Sigh…*choke* Does she notice me?” Narration box: EVERYWHERE SHE TURNED: GAL LONGINGS Card 2: Turpentine (thought bubble): “She loves KITTENS, and I love DELINQUENCY- Are our…gal hearts…TOO DIFFERENT?” Narration box: Shocking Twist: “But I don’t, um…NOT also love kittens” It’s a Band Vs Band comic page! A cute retro looking rock n roll band plays in front of a crowd, and the singer, Honey Hart, gets flustered mid-song by the sight of her then-secret girlfriend in the audience. This is absolutely a spoiler for the enemies-to-lovers plot of my comic, by the way, but I think that’s fine. Singing (big, wacky hand lettering): Yeah! Feelin LOVE in the air and maybe it shows And maybe I don’t even CARE who knows Cause when I…see…you…there…I- WOW, WHAT A GREAT CROWD TONIGHT

Luna is sick (poor baby, I’ve called the vet), and it’s so cute that she went and curled up next to her sister on purpose. She’s usually more of an independent type who likes the other cat to give her a little space.

ah, the two genres of conversations with AI proponents
Saruman from The Lord of the Rings saying "We must join with him, Gandalf." This is the good wizard Gandalf's former friend and ally, the head of their order, advocating for joining the dark lord Sauron rather than resisting. This seems motivated by a combination of seeking power and gain for himself, and a cynical fatalistic idea that Sauron's victory for evil and destruction of Middle Earth is the inevitable future, so the smart move is that you might as well accept it and get in on it. He's wrong, and it ultimately costs him everything. When did Saruman The Wise abandon reason for madness? A wizard should know better! The Simpsons Season 7 Episode 5, "Lisa The Vegetarian" (1995). Lisa's classmate Janey saying "Apparently my crazy friend here hasn't heard of the food chain", and this image has "food chain" intentionally roughly replaced with the word "future". She's parroting a line that the kids just heard in a corporate propaganda filmstrip, and loading up a plate with literal tripe, announced by Principal Skinner as "a special treat, courtesy of our friends at the Meat Council". All of this is happening as a response to Lisa setting off an "independent thought alarm" at the school by voicing moral/ethical concerns.
