Heard Doctorow talking about this and it's the first really good idea re Tarriffs: Many bad deals that give US tech firms monopolies are enforced via benefits of free trade. If no more free trade, then there is no incentive not to open up US tech to competition. This will actually hurt Trump allies.
Canada should now do what many have suggested to hit back against the US with non-tariff measures: jailbreak all American tech and stop enforcing US copyright in Canada.

If no more free trade, then there is no incentive not to open up US tech to competition. This will actually hurt Trump allies.
