For REAL. I’ve been talking about this stuff since high school civics class, only to be belittled. My parents lived in CA under Reagan and moved my family out of the state in the 90s. The Midwest did not want to hear about our experiences. Those that know history could see this coming.

I think those that have been calling this shit out since his first pres run are recentering on their own communities and letting the rest of the country figure it out on their own. I certainly am. I don’t want your quality of life depending on what state you were born in, but that is where we are.

I’m caregiver for my abuser and it is awful. It definitely helps with introspection. I just learned what complex PTSD is.

It is so difficult. I’ve found giving education on transitioning to more care early helps the entire family. Sometimes turning the conversation to how it helps their loved ones will give independent elders more of a palatable reason to give up some freedoms.

Ways I judge a good person…do they tip well? Do they treat people in food service with respect? Do they put their grocery cart in the designated spots or leave it where there car was? Do they treat animals humanely?
